Volunteer Opportunities

International volunteers generally visit us for 10 days to two weeks and work on housing construction in local villages; no prior experience is necessary. Volunteers who have visited us have built homes, but also built friendships with the local people and exchanged cultures. They have learned about a new culture, shared their own, and made a difference.

Some volunteers have the opportunity to visit our Child Chance programmes. They should have good communication skills in either English or Telugu, and be able to handle the heat of southern India.

Volunteers have worked in Kothasatram and Indranagar, Gummallapadu, and Chevuru villages. They have learned a few basic construction skills while interacting with the villagers and learning about the culture. In their free time they often play with the children and learn about their education. Many have said that coming to the villages is both a great joy and a great honor. It is an inspiration for them and provides a unique opportunity to serve people and to see a new part of the world.

By volunteering, you can:

  • Make a difference to the local community
  • Gain practical experience
  • Learn new skills and put existing ones to good use
  • Meet new people, get to know a community, make friends
  • Have fun
  • Change your life!
